This deluxe smoothing plane is the Cadillac of wooden planes. The body is made from fruitwood and the sole is lignum vitae.This 9" long reform-type plane has a movable shoe in the sole in front of the blade, enabling you to close the mouth for fine cuts on stock that doesn't have a reliable grain, thereby avoiding tear-out. The Primus screw-feed blade-adjustment mechanism has no lost motion, which makes adjustment accurate and easy.Blade width is 48mm (about 1 7/8"). Bed angle is 50°.A left-hand (LH) version, differentiated by its left-biased horn-shaped handle, is also available.Made in Germany.
